Day1 Oritate entrance -- Yakushi-zawa Hut I started climbing from Oritate at 7:30. 2 hous hard climbing in a forest and i got to Tarodaira Hut 12:30. Took a lunch break and descended for Yakushi-zawa Vally at 13:00. (right) Yakushi-zawa Hut 16:50, it was packed with people who quit camping due to heavy rain. Shared 3.6 m wide spece with 8 people, very stuffy. |

Day2 Yakushi-zawa -- Kumono-taira -- Takamaga-hara Hut Left the hut at 6:30 and climbed a steep rocky and slipperly route up to the forest limit. (right) Alaska Garden 10:30. Walk on a gentle path with panoramic view. It terned out to be a very fine day. (below left) Mt.Renge, Mt.Mitumata and Mt.Yari in the distance. Kumono-taira Plateau 2600 m elv. Kumono-taira Hut 11:30, Newly rebuilt big hut, enjoyed luch with panoramic view. Started 12:30 enjoying a panoramic mountain view. Route changed to a steep descent. 2 ladders. (below rght) Mt.Suisyo, Mt.Akaishi with lava and alpine plants. Pass Takamaga-hara Pass at 15:00. arrived at Takamaga-hara Hut at 16:00. Day3 Takamagahara -- Kurobe-headwater -- Taro-daira Hut Left the hut at 6:30, the Pass at 7:35, followed Daito-route that was very steep and dengerous. Kurobe Headwater. A headwater runs between high cliffs, is the most farthest stream. River bed is rather flat and wide. (below left) Up stream direction for Yakushi-zawa, down stream direction (right) |

Reached at Yakushi-sawa Hut at 13:30, I supplied water and bought a cooled packed-milk and refreshed.
Walking on a wooden trail seeing Mt.Yakushi this time, and climbed up to Taro-daira Hut, 17:50. A dinner was most delicious in this trip. It was a cold windy night but a clear night, I saw beautiful lights of Toyama city far away. Day4 Taro-daira -- Oritate Little walk to Mt.Yakushi.and returned to Oritate at 11:15. Droped by Kamegai Onsen and refreshed. Stoped by onsens and drove home at mid night. |
